The world of railways is built on shared enthusiasm, collaboration, and a passion for preserving railway history. Below is a selection of organisations, projects, and resources that you may find interesting to explore.

These links include heritage railways, preservation groups, and individuals involved in keeping steam and railway engineering alive for future generations. We encourage you to visit their websites, support their work, and discover the wide variety of projects taking place across the UK and beyond.

Heritage Railways

A number of preserved railways offer a chance to experience steam and diesel locomotives in action, often running full passenger services and special events throughout the year.

Railway Societies & Heritage Groups

Railway societies and heritage organisations play a vital role in researching, preserving, and promoting railway history. Many also support restoration projects and provide valuable educational resources.

Other New Build Locomotive Projects

Alongside our project, there are a number of other inspiring new build locomotive projects currently underway. These projects aim to recreate historically significant steam locomotives that were lost to history, often using original drawings combined with modern engineering techniques.

  • The Clan Project – Rebuilding the BR Standard Class 6 locomotive 72010 Hengist, completing a class that was never preserved.

We would like to thank everyone who has given us donations via our Give as you Live donation button on this website.
