Boiler Appeal Update

Spring Update 2026
Cylinders The machining of the cylinder castings is now at a very advanced stage. The next part of this process will be the machining of the steamchest covers, together with their mating face on the main cylinder castings, with all the holes drilled and tapped as necessary to attach the covers to the main castings. Winter Update 2025
In this update you will see that we are again concentrating on the ongoing machining of the cylinder castings, but we are also mentioning other parts that have been worked on recently. Summer Update 2025
As mentioned in the last update, after being allowed to season in the workshop for almost a year, the cylinders were moved to John Dunn Engineering for machining to be carried out. Firstly, the castings needed to be set up on the borer table for them to be marked out, this can be seen in the accompanying illustrations.
